I enjoy stumbling in here with crippled expectations every time we go to Gardendale. If you are looking for the newest releases on the newest consoles go to GameStop. I come here looking for dusty ole yesteryear games for N64, SNES, and Genesis. Sometimes I find a game that blows my skirt up. Other times I trudge out empty inside and contemplating my life decisions. It seems they concentrate a lot on the card games here which I don’t have enough free space left in my brain to absorb. So... 4 stars!

Used to be a cool place to hang out and play magic a few years ago but I recently came by here and the store was empty except for one glass case with some mtg cards and a few tables tossed around the room, no merch no games or anything really. The only employee was sitting at a table playing a game with the only other person in the store. Neither of them even acknowledged my presence when I walked in

This place is small and charming with a selection worth viewing. Prices aren't bad, and there are gems to find. The girl that works during the day seems miserable and not into her job. Not helpful or informative about the products they sell. I know lots of people who would be beyond excited to work in a comic shop. Seems like a cool job for a young person to have. She just comes off cold and judgmental. I don't see any reason to go back.

I set my expectations a bit too high for this place. I'm from a small town that has an active and passionate gaming community, so I always try to support local game stores wherever I go. I was excited when i found out about this place, but was disappointed with my overall experience. The store opened 30 minutes later than the advertised time. The store itself was cluttered. The inventory for video games and comic books was impressive for such a small store, but the quantity of table top and board game products was a total joke. The staff, despite opening up the store 30 minutes late, was kind enough to try and help me find what I was looking for, but did not have it in stock. I left without purchasing anything. Maybe if they were to strictly advertise themselves as a video game/comic book store rather than a gaming store, other customers like myself would know what to expect. Opening at the correct time would be nice too. I see almost no excuse for opening up so late, especially for a store that already opens up at noon.

Pretty great little store with a good selection of comics and games. If you are looking for something on an older system this is definitely the place to go. Worth a stop by to check out if you are looking for something in the area. They used to have a more active gaming community playing a bunch of different tabletops, but the main thing that is played here now is magic unfortunately.
